  • Financial literacy- is the ability to understand finance. More specifically, it refers to the set of skills and knowledge that allows an individual to make informed and effective decisions through their understanding of finances.
  • Health literacy- is an individual's ability to read, understand and use healthcare information to make decisions and follow instructions for treatment.

- Early computers = stored programs
  • 1960s ---> computer systems equipped with dual processors
  • 1970s ---> supercomputers equipped with 32 processors
  • 1980s ---> supercomputers equipped with 1000 processors
  • 1999 ----> IBM created Blue Gene System with 1M+ processors

- Boolean Algebra
  • Logical thought computers used invented by George Boole
    • manipulating 1 to 2 values ("off/on", "1/0", "true/false")
  • Basic unit of computing are called bits. Computers use bits comprised of 1's and 0's
    • 8 bits in a byte
